The episode opens with the closing of the video store. Mayor Adam West happily acquires the Garbage Pail Kids movie while Peter gets a copy of Roadhouse starring Patrick Swayze. Inspired by the movie, Peter decides that all of life's problems can be solved by kicking. While steering the car while kicking, he rear-ends another car driven by Nicole. Brian makes the most of the opportunity to make a date but when he arrives at her house he finds out from her mother Rita that she has already went out with someone else. Brian ends up attracted to Rita and asks her out instead. They hit it off and end up spending the night together. While trying to sneak out of the house they are caught by the family who tease Brian about dating an older woman. Brian tries to set up a dinner with the family but it goes poorly and Rita leaves in tears infuriating Brian. Brian goes to Rita and they end up engaged. Most of the family is surprised but Peter actually takes it quite well, figuring she'll still easily outlive Brian. While trying to make love, Rita breaks her hip. Brian finds that caring for an older person is more than he can handle and ends up cheating on Rita with a girl he picks up at a bar. When Brian admits he cheated, Rita breaks off their relationship.
