Campfire Song Song
Spongebob Patrick

From the episode: Road to Rupert
Singers: SpongeBob SquarePants & Patrick Star
Voices: Tom Kenny & Bill Fagerbakke

"The Campfire Song Song" is a song originally performed by SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star on their own show in the episode "The Camping Episode".

The song was later heard in the Family Guy episode "Road to Rupert", with the original audio played, thus SpongeBob and Patrick were played by their actual voice actors, Tom Kenny and Bill Fagerbakke. As well as retaining the original audio for the song, the animators of this episode also drew the sequence similarly in nature, SpongeBob holding a ukulele and Patrick with a confused and effort-strained look in the eyes as he cannot spell C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E-S-O-N-G at the speed the song warrants.

Lyrics

SpongeBob: I call this one the Campfire Song Song...

Let's gather 'round the campfire and sing our campfire song,

your C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E S-O-N-G song,

and if you don't think that we can sing it faster, then you're wrong,

but it'll help if you just sing aloooooong...

Patrick: BumBumBum....

SpongeBob: C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E S-O-N-G song,

C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E S-O-N-G song,

and if you don't think that we can sing it faster, then you're wrong,

but it'll help if you just sing along

C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E S-O-N-G song. Patrick!

Patrick:(strained)...song! C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E---

SpongeBob: SQUIDWARD!

Squidward: (Silence)

SpongeBob: GOOD!!!

It'll help! It'll heeeeeeelp!!!

If you just sing aloooooooong!

SpongeBob and Patrick break their instruments

SpongeBob: OH YEAH!!!!

Note

  • It is not often during Family Guy that cartoon characters from other shows can retain their original voices unless it is some planned event. It turns out that "The Camping Episode" was directed and the song written by "Road to Rupert" director Dan Povenmire, thus giving him rights to the audio.
