Notes/Trivia
  • The Craig Hoffman character is named after the supervising producer for the first three seasons.
  • Gene Simmons of KISS makes a cameo to encourage Peter. Simmons, an old friend of Lois, previously appeared in the episode “Road to Europe.”
  • Peter calls Stewie by the name Stevie in this episode.
  • Brian claims that his tendency to bark at African-Americans comes from his father. However, he wasn’t raised by either his mother or father since he was taken away from his birthplace shortly after his birth (as shown in flashbacks in “Road to Rhode Island”).
  • Mila Kunis is an admittedly terrible singer. Meg is voiced by someone else during singing roles. According to the end credits, in this episode, Tara Strong sang as Meg.
  • Craig Hoffman is named after the Family Guy writer of the same name.
  • Ms. Swan is a character from Mad TV, played by Alex Borstein, voice of Lois Griffin. Ironically, she's also present on the SNL Stage toward the end of the episode.
  • Every person Peter mentioned when he gets excited about being on SNL has died in the past years (except Sanz).

Music

  • When the guys temporarily give the Clam a Coyote Ugly theme, they dance on the countertop to the tune of “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” by The Charlie Daniels Band.
  • While the Clam is a karaoke bar, Mort Goldman performs Maureen McGovern’s 1973 hit “The Morning After.”
  • Peter, Cleveland, Joe, and Quagmire sing “Don’t Stop Believin’,” a 1981 hit from Journey. Shortly after the premiere of the episode, the song made its way to number four on iTunes.
