Doctor Emmett Lathrop "Doc" Brown, Ph.D. is a fictional character and one of the major characters in the Back to the Future motion picture franchise, in which he is the inventor of the first time machine, which he builds out of a DeLorean sports car.
He appears in "The Courtship of Stewie's Father". Stewie imagines Doc at the end of the first film, and in turn the beginning of the second film. Here he tells Marty and Jennifer about their kids. He goes into detail, revealing their daughter marries a black man. This news does little to offend Marty, although Doc's racist attitude alienates Marty and Jennifer.
In "The Man with Two Brians", Peter is seen wearing the helmet that Doc wore in the first film after confusing Brian by speaking in cool kids' lingo mumbo jumbo. Brian asks what it is supposed to mean, to which Peter uses Doc's quote from the film that it doesn't work at all.
In "Baby Not On Board", archival footage of Doc Brown is played during "The Power of Love" segment with Peter as Marty McFly.
In Something, Something, Something, Dark Side, Luke Skywalker, played by Chris Griffin, receives his 1885 telegram from the Western Union worker, which parodies Part II's ending of Marty receiving a letter from Doc Brown.
He is voiced by Seth MacFarlane.
