Series veterans Steve Callaghan and Mark Hentemann have signed separate three-year deals with the show's producer, 20th Century Fox TV. Under the lucrative seven-figure pacts, the two have been promoted to executive producers and named showrunners.

Former showrunners David Goodman and Chris Sheridan will remain on the show as executive producers alongside Callaghan, Hentemann, creator Seth MacFarlane and Danny Smith.

In divvying up responsibilities, Callaghan will focus more on running the writers' room while Hentemann shepherds production.

Fox will host a mini-marathon of the episode that helped Family Guy earn its Emmy nomination on August 16th. Starting at 8:30pm ET Fox will show Road to Germany, I Dream of Jesus and Family Gay.

Reports from Comic-con have revealed more plots for Season 8, but big news is that Something, Something, Something Darkside has been pushed back to a Christmastime release. Also, the 3rd planned Star Wars parody has been changed from The Great Muppet Caper to Episode VI - We Have A Bad Feeling About This.

Family Guy has become only the second animated show to receive a nomination for the 'Best Comedy' Emmy after The Flintsones in 1961. They'll be facing stiff competition from The Office which is trying for their third straight as well as How I Met Your Mother and 30 Rock.

Fox has announced September 27th as the start of the next season of Animation Domination with Family Guy, American Dad, The Cleveland Show, and The Simpsons. No episodes have been announced but only the regular half-hour time slot is allotted on that date leaving the question of when Something, Something, Something Darkside will air. [1]

Due for release beginning this Tuesday in the United States,Target Stores are advertising a deluxe version for Volume 7 called "Big Fat Peter Collector's Pack". Price is around $5 more than regular version. Ad states that, along with the DVDs, it includes a Long John Peter poster and fan art collector's booklet. ("Quantities limited, no rain checks"). Sounds like this set is what the "Mad Genius Bonus Pack" was for Volume 6. [2]
