  • The stock footage of the Women's Institute applauding after the British cutaway is a reference to Monty Python's Flying Circus doing the same thing to "link" between sketches.
  • The death of Queen Elizabeth II parodies the death of Princess Diana. The chase by London Bobbies to "Yakety Sax" that follows also parodies similar chases on The Benny Hill Show.

“Fatman and Robin”

  • "Fatman and Robin" is a reference to the common pairing of "Batman and Robin".
  • Fatman and Robin has a similar plot to the fable of King Midas.
  • The Robins who wave Peter out of the hospital are a parody of the main characters of Scrubs: JD, Turk, The Janitor and Dr. Cox.
  • Robin Williams says "Run Forrest Run", a reference to Forrest Gump.
  • After Peter turns the front door into Robin Williams he says impersonating Ed Sullivan "Ladies and Gentlemen, The Doors" as a reference to the rock band of the same name.

“Point of Stew”

  • When Stewie looks down the slide, he imitates Chevy Chase from the film National Lampoon's Vacation.
  • A Twinkie in Brian's car's tailpipe is reminiscent of Axel Foley stalling a police car with a banana in the tailpipe, in Beverly Hills Cop.
  • When playing with his bath toys, Stewie re-enacts the initial shark attack from the film Jaws, where a girl swimming at night gets attacked by a shark.
  • Lois reads the book Good Night Town from Footloose to Stewie. It is a parody of Goodnight Moon, his favorite bedtime story, as mentioned in "Screwed the Pooch".
