"I Got a Name" is a song written by Norman Gimbel and Charles Fox. It was first recorded by American folk singer Jim Croce for his 1973 album of the same name. It would become one of the final songs recorded before his tragic death in plane crash, but was not released until three month later. It would go on to reach #10 in the U.S. singles chart.
In "Ready, Willing, and Disabled", Mort Goldman sings "I Got a Name" to a muzak rendition that plays over the loudspeaker of his pharmacy while Peter Griffin sneaks behind the counter to steal steroids for Joe Swanson.
Lyrics
Mort: And I carry it with me like my daddy did
If you're going my way, I'll go with you
La da dee da
Movin' me down the highway...
