Joe Flaherty

Joe Flaherty (June 21, 1941 - April 1, 2024) was an American-Canadian actor and comedian, best known for his work on the Canadian sketch comedy SCTV, Freaks and Geeks and as a judge on The Second City's Next Comedy Legend.

He also played the Western Union deliveryman in Back to the Future Part II, delivering Dr. Emmett Brown's 1885 letter to Marty McFly in 1955. He reprises the role in Something, Something, Something, Dark Side, delivering the letter to Luke Skywalker, played by Chris Griffin, who expressed discontent with the ending of The Empire Strikes Back.

Joe parodied the role again as the Vatican courier in "The Big Bang Theory" that brings Brian news that Stewie froze himself and is buried in the basement after staying in the Renaissance to inject his DNA into Leonardo da Vinci's girlfriend in order for Stewie to exist.
