Ms. Ironbachs teaches sensitivity in the workplace classes for chauvanistic males, and is called to The Happy-Go-Lucky Toy Factory after Peter recites a crude joke to a female co-worker. She also leads retreats for women and one time had her breasts squeezed by Peter while he was saying "honk, honk". She also had her ass kicked by Lois when she made fun of Lois's family.

The character itself is a parody of feminist lawyer, Gloria Allred. Ironbox was also the nickname of a woman who went to the same college as Dan Palladino, one of Family Guy's producers. Chris Sheridan said that they (his friends) called the girl Ironbox, because she would not sleep with any of the guys. To this day, Chris Sheridan denies ever calling her this, although his friends did.

Peter believes her to be a lesbian. This is revealed when Mr. Weed assures her Peter will go to the women's retreat she recommended, and she says to Peter (with a vague hint at lust in her voice) "Good. I'm looking forward to it..." and Peter replies "You know, if I wasn't so sure that you were a lesbian, I'd say you were comin' on to me."
