Lauren first appears in the episode on TV, while the Griffin family watches an episode of The Hills. It was very brief, and she does not appear again until later on in the episode, when Brian gets drunk at a bar after meeting his ex-girlfriend Jillian's fiance over dinner. He was very intoxicated at the time, and does not seem to recognize Lauren as the Hills star, calling her 'blondie'. They hit it off soon after meeting, and after Brian cracks a few lame jokes, Lauren laughs and says that he reminds her of her stepdad. They then make out, and the next scene is the two in a hotel room bed, their clothes and collar lying on the floor. Brian wakes up and sobers, finally realising who she was, remarking "Oh my god, you're Lauren Conrad!" upon awakening. After a few scenes with Stewie and the family, the two start to date.
Additionally in this episode, she is portrayed as the exact opposite of her Hills personality. She is portrayed as being very intellectual and more into philosophy and science than into clothes and magazines. It can easily be stated that Lauren is the smartest character to have currently appeared in the show. She was so smart in fact she would often correct others statements involentarly and at times look down on them, most notable is Brian who became very uneasy about dating someone far smarter than himself.

After Brian, the first Griffin she meets is Stewie, who witnesses the two walking out of the hotel while shopping for hats. Like Brian, Lauren seems to understand Stewie perfectly. When the two start dating, Brian brings Lauren over to the Griffin's for dinner, where she seems to have ticked off Lois, when she corrects her remark about caviar spoons, which Lois replies to with "You could have just complimented on the free food, but one-upping me is another way to go." Lauren does not seem to sense the hostility towards her, but Brian uncomfortably tries to change the subject, while Lois proceeds to call Lauren a bitch. The rest of the dinner consists of Peter and Meg asking her random questions, ending with Lauren commenting on how uncomfortable her chair is, which is actually Quagmire bent over in the shape of a chair, who admits that he just wanted to meet her.
For the rest of the episode she maintains a friendly relationship with the Griffins, occasionally appearing at the house to discuss with Brian and Stewie about his situation with Jillian, though in the end, Brian states that she'll never speak with him again, because he gave her worms.
