"Old Man" Marley was a neighbor of Kevin McCallister in the 1990 film Home Alone, played by Roberts Blossom. He was said to have murdered his family and half of the people on the block with a snow shovel by Kevin's older brother Buzz. Kevin has several near encounters with him, and eventually learns that he's actually a nice guy, as well as a parent and a grandparent, and that his salting the sidewalks every night with the snow shovel is his job. He also finds out that the reason Marley's family is never around is due to a fight with his son. Kevin suggests he call up his family and try to reconcile and is later saved by Marley when he is captured by thieves. After Kevin's family returns, he looks out the window and sees that Marley has followed through with his advice and is meeting with his own family as well.
In "Don't Be a Dickens At Christmas", Opie looks out his window at "Old Man" Marley reuniting with his estranged family.
