Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc., or MGM, is an American media company, involved primarily in the production and distribution of films and television programs. MGM was founded in 1924 when the entertainment entrepreneur Marcus Loew gained control of Metro Pictures, Goldwyn Pictures Corporation and Louis B. Mayer Pictures. Its mascot is Leo the Lion.

In "Road to Rupert", Stewie Griffin is inserted into the scene in Anchors Aweigh where Jerry Mouse and Gene Kelly perform "The Worry Song".

The company also refuses to allow the show to use the movie depictions of characters in The Wizard of Oz, forcing Seth MacFarlane and crew to use the original novel's depictions.
