Nathaniel "Nate" Griffin was Francis Griffin's great-great-great-grandfather and a Black slave. Nate Griffin was supposedly born in Quahogsousa, Africa, and is also possible that he had a lost African name, instead like many slaves, being allowed to choose his own American name. He belonged to the family Pewterschmidt and was their stable boy. While working as a slave for the "massa", Nate peed in their cereal each day and had sex with Lois's great ancestor as well as her fine sister. He currently resides in Heaven where there is "a shortage of chairs... yeah...". This may imply that Nate Griffin may actually have been sent to Hell for his sins of adultery and fornication.
When Peter told his family about the family history, he tells them that Nate married Lois Laura Bush Lynne Cheney Pewterschmidt. Their marriage produced three children that were just like Stewie, Meg, and Chris.
There is a possibility that Nate is not actually one of Peter's direct relatives at all, as it transpired that Peter's biological father was not Francis Griffin, but rather Mickey McFinnigan.
