• The episode is dedicated in memory of Paul B. Sheridan with an onscreen message that reads "Dedicated to Paul B. Sheridan, 1940-2007" that features a picture of him on a kayak. He was Chris Sheridan's father.
  • While Meg is lying on the couch, we see Peter moving next to her holding a wire clothes hanger. While unfolded wire clothes hangers were used for illegal abortions, Peter only wants to put his shirt on it.
  • Dean Cain unfortunately never became a big star after the show Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman got canceled. Peter claims that, as he result, he became 'all desperate for attention'.
  • Jodie Foster appears in a cutaway nod to her alleged lesbianism. The woman Jodie Foster was making out with in her underwear was Kyle's mother from "The Tan Aquatic with Steve Zissou".
  • When Peter tells Meg that he will not treat her like an Alien, a flashback goes to Ripley and Newt escaping planet LV-426, but the Queen stops them.
  • When Michael runs out on Meg, Peter says that the people came for a show and then resorts to the introduction: "Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Conway Twitty". A live action clip of the country singer later follows, singing "Hello Darling".
  • An action figure of The Iron Giant and a creepy courtroom doll used for child molestation are on top of Meg's wedding cake.
  • Andy Garcia used to have a partially formed conjoined twin on his shoulder, which was later surgically removed. A cutaway shows the twin as sentient and it disrupts Garcia's date with a woman.
  • Chris said he doesn't have any friends, but it shows he actually has friends in "The Courtship of Stewie's Father".
  • When Stewie and Brian first enter the house they mean to renovate, Brian says that you can hear "the mice humping in the walls,". Mickey Mouse's voice is heard from within the walls of the run-down house, enjoying sex.
  • Fred Flintstone cites being locked out of the house by Wilma, as shown at the end of the Flintstones cartoon, as grounds for their separation.
  • Meg reveals that she is a fan of the band Maroon 5, saying that she likes bad music.
  • In the uncensored version, Peter says "Well Lois I got the cake, oh and they were all out of the bride and grooms figurines, so I got the Iron Giant and courtroom doll that kids use to show where the molester touched them." The censored version simply has Peter saying "Well Lois I got the cake." with the cake blocked out.
