Popeye the Sailor Man is a comic strip character, later featured in popular animated cartoons and movies appearing first in January 1929.

Popeye has only appeared once so far in a cutaway after Peter remarks "You are as clueless as Popeye." In the cutaway Popeye is at the hospital that the Griffins go to, talking to Dr. Hartman. Hartman informs Popeye that the lumps on his forearms were "really giant tumors", and that he "must have realized that it is not the normal way that human arms look". Then Hartman tells him that his speech problems and his habit of having one eye closed is in fact due to "a series of strokes". Dr. Hartman closes by saying that it is nothing short of a miracle that he "is still walking", and that he'll "be dead in a month". In response to all of this Popeye only babbles incoherently.
