Ross Fishman is one of Lois Griffin's old boyfriends. In "Stuck Together, Torn Apart", the two catch up at CostMart. He reveals that he recently separated from his wife, with whom he had at least one child. After initially declining the invitation for coffee, Lois sneaks out under her husband's jealousy. When Peter spots them, it leads to a trial separation.

In "Into Fat Air", Peter challenges the Fishmans in a climb up Mt. Everest. Lois backs the challenge after being put off by the Fishman's attitude. The Griffins arrive at the summit only to find the Fishman's beat them there but in a storm on the way down the Griffins discover and eat the frozen body of Ben Fishman. Peter later rescues Ross and his wife Pam Fishman before revealing their son's fate.
