Santos and Pasqual are Portuguese immigrants who work as fishermen with Peter. One was a cardiologist in Portugal. They do not speak a word of English, even when talking to those who do. Eventually, Peter couldn't afford them, so he decides to shoot them, fortunately they realize this swim away in time. In another episode, the fishermen offered to babysit Stewie, until Stewie informed them that no Portuguese were allowed. They also saved Joe Swanson's life in the episode The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire. Curiously, they speak with a heavy Brazilian accent, and in very bad Portuguese. In the episode From Method to Madness one of them said that he was a "cardialogo" in Portugal. Cardiologo is incorrect and does not mean cardiologist, it should be "cardiologista". They are in reference to the large Portuguese-American community located in southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, which would include Quahog.

Despite being Portuguese, they speak with a heavy Brazillian accent.
