Spirit of Massachusetts was sung by Peter in "Play It Again, Brian".
The first time this is heard it is sung by Peter while he does various things while traveling around Massachusetts. When this is heard again at the end of the episode, it is performed by Peter, Brian, Lois and a crowd of people from Massachusetts. The sequence parodied the famous "Spirit of Massachusetts" ad campaign from the 1980s.
