  • In this episode, Peter has to repeat third grade; however, it is seen in "And the Wiener is..." that he has passed fourth grade already.
  • Peter's elementary school where he is sent back to in this episode, Martin Mull Elementary, is named after Martin Mull, a Rhode Island-native actor. This continues the trend that the Quahog schools are named after famous Rhode Islanders.
  • The tattoo that Frank Sinatra Jr. has on his arm after his makeover translates as "yáng" a component that can be combined with other symbols to specify goat (山羊) and various other related animals and products.[1]

  • During the spelling bee, Tom Tucker addresses Omar with the last name "Northtower". Seth MacFarlane who voices Tucker was booked on the flight that hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.[4]
  • Normally when someone on The Price is Right gets the "perfect bid" while in Contestants' Row, a special jingle will sound and said contestant gets an additional bonus.[5] No such jingle sounds when The Price is Right cutaway featuring Prince plays, nor does he receive the additional money.
