  • The title is a reference to the Carl Reiner & Mel Brooks comedy sketch The 2000-Year-Old Man[1] as well as the film The 40-Year-Old Virgin.
  • Meg acting as a tag remover, looking at the camera and saying, "It's a living" followed by "wah-wah-wah" music is a reference to the birds on The Flintstones.
  • Peter encouraging offended Christians who might be watching to mail complaints to the Family Television Council is a jab at the Parents Television Council, a Christian pro-censorship group and one of the show's most vocal critics.
