The Babbitt And The Bromide
Hellohoeyou
From the episode: Cool Hand Peter
Singers: Peter Griffin, Glenn Quagmire, Joe Swanson
Voices: Seth MacFarlane, Patrick Warburton

"The Babbit and the Bromide" is a song from the film Ziegfeld Follies featuring Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly. The duo team up in a comedy song and dance challenge in three sections, to music and lyrics by George and Ira Gershwin.[1]

Peter, Joe and Quagmire sing this song after seeing the black prisoners sing "Gonna See Miss Eliza" in "Cool Hand Peter".

Lyrics

Peter:
Man, listen to what the black guys are doin'. We need a white guy work song.
[start hammering rocks rhythmically]
Peter:
Hello.
Joe:
How are you?
Quagmire:
How's the folks?
Peter:
What's new?
Joe:
I'm great.
Quagmire:
That's good.
Peter:
Ha ha!
Joe:
Knock wood!
Quagmire:
Well, well...
Peter:
That's life.
Joe:
Whadaya know?
Quagmire:
How's the wife?
Peter:
Gotta run.
Joe:
Oh, my!
Quagmire:
Ta ta!
Peter:
Olive oil.
Joe:
Goodbye!
[they tap dance]
