• Lois reveals that Brian's birthday has passed since "The Former Life of Brian", and Brian is now 8 years old.
  • Buzz Killington appears for the third time, this time interacting with Stewie instead of Peter. He also appeared in the episodes, "Believe It or Not, Joe's Walking on Air and "Whistle While Your Wife Works".
  • This episode marks the third time that Stewie pronounces words wrong, and the second time that Stewie brings up "Cool Hwhip". Stewie has done this in "Barely Legal", "Love, Blactually" and "Not All Dogs Go To Heaven".
  • New Brian steals Brian's catchphrase "Whose leg do I have to hump to get a dry martini around here?", substituting a dry martini with hugs.
  • The song Peter sings on New Brian's karaoke night is "Everybody Hurts" by R.E.M.
  • Lois and New Brian sing the song "Summer Nights" from the Broadway play and film Grease.
  • The song that New Brian plays to wake up Peter and Lois is "Morning Mood" (Norwegian: "Morgenstemning") from the Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 (op. 46.) by Edvard Grieg.
  • Brian shows home videos of himself as a puppy living with the Griffins. In "Brian: Portrait of a Dog", he was picked up by Peter as an adult. Also, he acts in typical puppy fashion, when he really has been anthropomorphic since before he was taken away from his mother.
  • It is said by Bonnie that Joe can't swim in "The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire", but in this episode he can.
  • Abraham Lincoln is seen in a cutaway gag, telling his neighbor that he thinks his lawn is too long. The neighbor responds, "Yeah, I had a guy for that, Dick." Meaning his lawn guy was a former slave.
  • Brian's causing the Puerto Rican girl to cry is not mentioned when Quagmire lists his faults in "Jerome Is the New Black".
  • Carol Alt currently does not have a husband. Her boyfriend, hockey player Alexei Yashin, is 13 years younger than she is, so even when exaggerated, the man should not sound as old as she.
  • At the beginning of the episode, Peter, Quagmire, Joe, Cleveland, and Brian are watching Jackass. Peter then decides he is going to attempt what they do on the show, totally disregarding the skull and crossbone disclaimer, as mentioned by Cleveland.
  • In the uncensored version of Quagmires "Bee Bush" stunt, you can see the outline of his penis covered with honey and bees. The censored version simply shows a mass of bees.
